When an observer moves across the 2 speakers he hears variation in the loudness of the sound. The two speakers produce similar waves which propagate in space hence overlapping with each other.

The waves have the same amplitude, Frequency, wavelength and periodic time which overlap with each other producing the variation in the loudness of the sound.
