There are two types of interference;

1. Constructive and
2. Destructive

• Constructive interference occurs when two waves which are in phase superimpose on each other when they are traveling in the same region of space. The two waves reinforce each others effect and produce a large wave with a larger amplitude.
• Destructive interference occur when two waves which are out of phase and traveling in the same region of space overlap with each other.The waves cancel each others effect resulting into a wave with a smaller amplitude or no wave at all.
