THE CONTROL UNIT

Just like human brain directs the activities and actions of the body, the control unit is the center of operations of the computer system; it directs the activities of the computer system. CU controls, supervises and oversees all the activities of the computer. The CU monitors the execution of programmes. The CU manages the signals and the commands exchanged between the various components of the computer system e.g. ALU and Main memory.
