The CPU of the computer consists of the Control unit (CU) and the arithmetic and logic unit. In microcomputers, the CPU is implemented on a single piece of silicon device called a computer chip. the chip is also called the microprocessor. It is made by combining a very large number of transistors. This technology is referred to as Very large Scale Integration.
