INTRODUCTION/ANALOGY

We are all familiar with plastics. Almost everything these days is made of plastics/polymers. (student - write a few example in your notebook. Look at the image age gallery belowfor ideas). In this lesson you shall learn how the plastics are made. previously you have learnt about the self addition reaction of ethene to form polyethene. This is an example of addition polymerisation. The video that followws best illustrates how addition polymerisation takes place. Take a keen look at it and make summary notes.
