Example of base quantity unit - Time

Exploring time

Time is the measure of the duration or period of an event e.g period taken by a fruit to reach the ground after falling from a tree.

Time is also used to record when an event happened and to decide which of the two events happened first. The SI unit of time is the seconds.

Divisions of other common time units are years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and milliseconds.

Most of the experiments conducted in Physics use stop watches to determine the time of a given event by starting, stopping and resetting.
Start the stop watch when the pendulum is on the highest right side and stop when it reaches the same point 10 times.
  1. Determine what time it took for the pendulum A  to swing 10 times.

Repeat procedure 1 for pendulum B
