INTRODUCTION

Variation problems involve fairly simple relationships or formulas, involving one variable being equal to one term. Here follows the most common kinds of variations. The constant of variation in a direct variation is the constant (unchanged) ratio of two variable quantities.

Examples of types of variation include direct, inverse, joint, and combinedvariation.. In direct variation, as one variable is multiplied by a constant and increases, another variable (the quotient) also increases.
