INTRODUCTION

There are several stylistic devices used in poetry most of which  are learnt in the lower forms, especially in the study of poetry, oral literature and literature set texts. They include metaphor, simile, juxtaposition, oxymoron, hyperbole, sarcasm, satire, irony, humour.
