Read the paragraph below and fill in the missing words/values.

Sulphur occurs about metres underground. The soil structure in these areas is usually weak and can easily cave in. Digging of tunnels is thus discouraged in trying to extract the mineral.

Sulphur is extracted by drilling concentric /round pipes of diameter of ratios 2:8:15 centimeters.

Superheated water at oC and 10 atmosphere pressure is forced through the pipe.

The high pressures ensure the water remains as liquid at high temperatures instead of vapour /gas.

The superheated water the sulphur because the melting point of sulphur is lower at about at about 115oC. A compressed air at atmospheres is forced /pumped through the pipe.

The hot air forces the molten sulphur up the pipe where it is collected and solidifies in a large tank.Sulphur obtained is about 99% pure.
