The chloroplast consists of the following parts:

-The granum which contains chlorophyll that traps light energy required for photosynthesis.

-Matrix which is aqueous where chemical reactions takes place i.e carbon (IV) oxide fixation.

-Stroma contains enzymes that speed up the process of photosynthesis.
