1. (a) Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants make their own food from simple inorganic substances (water and carbon (IV) oxide) using light energy.

2. As light intensity increases the rate of photosynthesis increases up to a certain level when it slows down and finally remains steady

 At low temperature the rate of photosynthesis is low. The rate increases with increase in temperature up to 40oC. Beyond 40oC the rate drops and finally the process of photosynthesis stops. this is because high temperatures denatures enzymes which controls photosynthesis.

 An increase in carbon (IV) oxide concentration increases the rate of photosynthesis up to a certain level when it slows down and finally remains steady.
