INTRODUCTION

The gradient of a curve at a point is given by the gradient of the tangent to the curve at that point. The process of finding the function that gives the exact gradient at any point of a curve is called differentiation.

Thr gradient function is also known as the derived function, the derivative or the differential coefficient denoted as f' (x) or as dy/dx.
