How do you find the area of a triangle when you have not been given the height?
The area of the triangle below is given by 1/2absinC.
In the triangle, the sides are denoted a, b and c. The angle that is to the opposite of side a is designated angle A, the angle that is opposite side b is designated angle B and the angle that is opposite side a is designated angle B.
To find the area, we use any two sides and the angle between them, which is refered to as the included angle.
Thus, the are of the triangle can be given by;
1/2absinC or 1/2bcsinA or 1/2acsinB.
