Abaluyia and abagusii are termed as western Bantus. Having migrated from Misri and eventually settling in their present homes, They were organised socially in families, initiation and generally culture and practised cultivation, cattle rearing, trade and carving. They were headed by council of elders in charge of villages made from family units. politically , warriors defended villages from external attacks.
