Similarities and differences between Packing List and Shopping List

 A shopping list is an item written before a shopping trip to a shop, grocer or supermarket. It helps cut down on money and time wastage 

It contains the following features;

  • Title- Words Shopping List  and purpose of shopping
  • Budgeted Mount- Amount intended to be spent
  • Item Category- Class/group under which item falls
  • Item- The particular item in each category
  • Description- The type/brand or make of the item
  • Quantity- Say how much/many of the items needed
  • Price- Amount to be spent on each item
  • Total- Total amount expected to be spent(not more than the budgeted amount)

For creativity, one can include;

  • expected balance
  • where shopping is to be done e.g. supermarket
  • who to do shopping with

PACKING LIST

On the other hand, a packing list is a checklist of what to carry on a trip. It is done to avoid forgetting things when packing. It also ensures one is organized(not to carry what is not intended)

It depends on;

  • Place to be visited
  • Means of transport to be used
  • Number of days to be spent
  • Reason for/purpose of visit

It contains the following;

  • Title-State purpose of packing and words "Packing List"
  • Duration- Length of stay on the trip
  • Items category- groupings under each category
  • Item-Specific item for each category
  • Quantity- number/volume required
  • Description-Type of item to be carried e.g. colour, brand, material, etc
