ACTIVITY 1

When alkali metals react with water, they form alkaline solutions and hydrogen gas. The reaction is exothermic. The reaction may be explosive hence carried out with some precautions to avoid accidents. Hydrogen gas is a colourless gas which burns with a pop sound.
