Methodology

A systole is always followed by a diastole and the two make a complete heart beat.

Both the left and right auricles relax and contract at the same time. Similary the left and right ventricles relax and contract at the same time.

The heart contracts at an average of about 60-70times per minute, but can be more during: Exercises, emotional disturbances and fever and high temperature.

Heart beat is also higher in a child than in an adult.

The heart beat is felt as a pulse by placing a finger on a fairly large artery e.g of the wrist against a bone.
