About GESCI

GESCI, the Global E-Schools and Communities Initiative, is a non-profit organization founded by the United Nations in 2003. GESCI, with its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, provides strategic advice to relevant Ministries in developing countries on the effective use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) within the context of inclusive Knowledge Societies see www.gesci.org.

Background and context for the African Digital Schools’ Initiative
The African Digital Schools Initiative (ADSI) is a comprehensive programme implementing digital school development in secondary schools to transform secondary schools into modern ICT-enhanced digital schools- Digital Schools of Distinction.

The resources you get here have been developed by teachers in the African Digital Schools Initiative (ADSI) programme for use by students in secondary schools. They were developed based on an identification of “Difficult to Teach” and “Difficult to Learn” Concepts drawn from the secondary education curriculum in Kenya.

The resources on this site are developed using the eXeLearning open source authroign software and are in the form of Presentations (MS PowerPoint), Videos, Audios, Flash Wave files, Java Format, HTML5 media amongst others.
