CONCLUSION

  • Electrostatics is the study of  static charge.
  • Charge on a body arises when two bodies are rubbed against each other.
  • When two materials are rubbed one of the material transfers electrons to the other
  • The material gaining electrons acquires a negative charge
  • Polythene and common plastics always gain electrons thus will acquire negative charge.
  • The material loosing electrons acquires a positive charge.
  • Glass and acetate will always loose electrons when rubbed thus acquire positive charge.
  • Materials that allow charge to flow through them are known as conductors
  • Materials which do not allow charge to flow through them are known as insulators
