Multiplication of signs

i.) ( a negative number ) x ( appositive number ) = ( a negative number)

ii.) (a positive number ) x ( a negative number ) = ( a negative number)

iii.) ( a negative number ) x ( a negative number ) = ( a positive number)

Note that,

ü When adding positive numbers we move to the right.

ü When dealing with negative we move to the left.

Addition of Integers

Both addition and subtraction of integers can be represented on a number line observing the steps below

given an expression requiring application of integers

I) simplify the expression by multiplying the signs.

II) by starting from the first number in the expression move, on the number line, to the left for for -ve and right for +ve bearing in mind the units/steps to move.

III) the number you stop at after step II above is the answer
